Big Rock Kids Tournament

The final day of the 6th Annual Big Rock Kids Billfish Tournament presented by Kurtis Chevrolet is officially underway! A total of 48 of the tournament's 50 boats are fishing today, each with one last opportunity to climb the leaderboard and compete for their share of the $121,975 purse before lines are out this afternoon. Current leaders heading into the final day include: REDEMPTION, captained by Adam Pittman, continues to lead the Level I Billfish Release Division with 1,325 points after releasing 1 Blue Marlin and 6 Sailfish, putting the crew in position for the tournament's $15,000 top prize. CARTERICAN, captained by Lee Smith, sits second in Level I with 1,000 points and continues to lead the Level II Total Release Division, where first place is worth $12,750. THE GENERAL, captained by Max Weaver, rounds out the Level I top three with 900 points and currently sits second in the Level II standings. The gamefish divisions remain up for grabs. PELAGIC's 19.4-pound dolphin leads the Weekly Dolphin Division, while BARBARA B's 23.3-pound wahoo sits atop the Weekly Wahoo Division. With one final day of fishing remaining, a single catch could still change the standings. The tournament continued to grow up until 9 o’clock this morning with the fleet reaching 50 boats and the purse hitting $121,975 as the competition heads into the final two days. Just 5 boats are fishing today, each looking to make a move up the leaderboard before the final day. Current leaders remain: REDEMPTION leads the Level I Billfish Release Division with 1,325 points after releasing 1 Blue Marlin and 6 Sailfish, putting the crew in position for a $15,000 payday. CARTERICAN sits second with 1,000 points after releasing 2 Blue Marlin and 1 Sailfish. The crew also leads the Level II Total Release Division, where first place is worth $12,750. THE GENERAL rounds out the Level I top three with 900 points and currently sits second in the Level II Total Release Division. This afternoon’s action at the scales could shake up the Gamefish Divisions, where every fish counts as anglers chase their share of the growing purse. BREAKWATER currently leads the Dolphin Division with a 7.1lb mahi, while BARBARA B holds the top spot in the Wahoo Division with a 23.3lb 'hoo. There are 43 boats competing in the 6th Annual Big Rock Kids Billfish Tournament presented by Kurtis Chevrolet. There are 39 boats fishing today & the word offshore is that the ocean is much prettier than anticipated. As of lines-in on Day 1, $116,875 is up for grabs.
