LINES IN for the final day of fishing in the 5th Annual Big Rock Kids Billfish Tournament presented by Kurtis Chevrolet, and the leaderboard is tight heading into Day 4.

After an action-packed Day 3, the fleet has tallied 104 billfish releases so far this week. MARLIN FEVER holds the top spot with 2,350 points after releasing eight sailfish yesterday and securing another $9,350 daily prize. They’re eyeing a potential $51,125 payday if they can stay ahead.

CARTERICAN sits in second with 1,625 points, thanks to a big push on their final fishing day that included five sailfish and one blue marlin releases, putting them in line for $20,455. SAVANNA LEIGH rounds out the top three with 875 points and a shot at $11,970 after adding four sailfish releases yesterday.

Over on the gamefish side, C ESCAPE is in the lead in the dolphin division with a 19.6-pound mahi, looking at an $18,360 payout if it holds. SAVANNA LEIGH sits in second with a 16-pounder worth $12,240.

Current standings in the wahoo division have PEGGY leading with a 35.7-pound ‘hoo, chasing a $17,085 payday, while THE GENERAL is close behind with a 34.4-pound wahoo.

Day 3 of the 5th Annual Big Rock Kids Billfish Tournament presented by Kurtis Chevrolet brought the action we’ve been waiting for. The fleet of 57 boats racked up 80 billfish releases today alone, pushing the tournament total to 104 releases so far.

DOC FEES got things started early, cashing in the Collins Inc | Yamaha First Release of the Day for $1,000 with a sailfish released at 9:17 AM.

MARLIN FEVER remains at the top of the leaderboard with 2,350 points after a standout day, releasing eight sailfish worth 1,200 points. The crew also claimed $9,350 for the Level II WTA Daily Release prize for the second time this week. If MARLIN FEVER can hold onto the lead, they’re looking at a $51,125 payday.

CARTERICAN made a big move on their final day of fishing, climbing into second place with five sailfish and one blue marlin released, earning 1,175 points for the day and 1,625 points overall. They’re now in the running for $20,455.

SAVANNA LEIGH released four sailfish today worth 700 points, bringing their weekly total to 875 points and sliding into third place, eyeing an $11,970 payday.

Over at the Parker Boats | Yamaha weigh station, C ESCAPE stole the lead in the dolphin division with a 19.6-pound mahi, aiming for an $18,360 payout. SAVANNA LEIGH now sits in second with a 16-pounder, looking at $12,240.

DAY 2 l BRKids Recap

That’s a wrap on Day 2 of the 5th Annual Big Rock Kids Billfish Tournament presented by Kurtis Chevrolet. Only two of the 73 registered boats fished today: ANNIE C and REBELETTE.

It definitely paid to play for ANNIE C, who captured the Collins Inc | Yamaha First Release of the Day with a sailfish released at 9:18 AM, earning $1,000, and also took home the Level 3 daily release prize of $9,350.

There were no changes to the leaderboard or any weigh-ins today, so standings remain the same. MARLIN FEVER is holding first place, worth a combined $32,425 ($15,000 + $17,425). RE-LEASED is in second with $20,455 ($10,000 + $10,455), and WASABI sits in third, eyeing $11,970 ($5,000 + $6,970).

SAVANNA LEIGH continues to lead the dolphin division with fish weighing 16 pounds and 15.3 pounds. If those weights hold the top two spots, they’ll earn a combined $22,950, with $13,770 for first place and $9,180 for second.

SENSATION’s 30.3-pound wahoo remains on top in the wahoo division, aiming for a $13,260 payday if it holds through the tournament. REEL HAULER is in second place with a 21.9-pound wahoo, potentially worth $8,840.

Registration remains open through tomorrow morning at 9 AM. For now, 73 boats are entered and competing for a purse of $164,475.
